Want to roll-up your sleeves and get stuck in? Want to be part of more than just a local volunteer group? Why not join Worcester Lions Club?
We seek to make a difference in our community and to help the young, elderly and those less able to help themselves. But we are so much more. We are part of Lions International, the world’s largest voluntary service organisation, with over 1.4 million members in 49,000 Lions Clubs around the world.
There are many ways we GET INVOLVED. Examples are below. With your help we could do even more. Why not join us?
Lions Spectacle Recycling
We are the only organisation in Worcester recycling spectacles for reuse in the developing world. You will find our recycling bins in many local opticians around the City. Donated glasses are sent to our recycling centre and then onwards for reuse overseas.
Lions Message in a Bottle
We fund and distribute the lifesaving ‘Lions Message in a Bottle’ to those with hidden medical problems and groups like the Worcestershire Association of Carers.
These bottles, recognised by the Emergency Services, allow the owner to record their medical conditions, medication, next of kin etc.
We provide hands-on support for other charities
Worcester Street Kitchen
We support the homeless Worcester Street Kitchen by funding and cooking meals for them a couple of times a month.
We provide donations to deserving groups who are helping others. Recent examples ...
Severn Freewheelers
We are sponsoring a Blood Bike in support of this voluntary service that transports blood and other items between hospitals.
Worcester Community Garden
We provided funds to enable completion of their Wildlife Garden.
Happy Days charity
Our funding enabled the charity to organise a visiting theatre experience for 100+ SEN children at the Regency School
